CZECHOSLOVAKIAN VLCAK SOCIETY OF AMERICA
Conformation events are important key next to bonitation for evaluating dogs for future breeding to preserve the standard of the Czechoslovakian Vlcak. Attending a dog show is a great way to learn more about the breed and to meet breeders or handlers who are dedicated to showcasing quality dogs.
I don't want a show dog. Why is conformation important?
Fanciers in the breed exhibit their dogs in dog shows to evaluate them for future potential breedings. Not every dog in a litter may make the cut to being the next breeding dog. These puppies are offered to families who just want a loving pet.
Can I do UKC or AKC if I wanted to show?
Simple answer, yes. Czechoslovakian Vlcak have full recognition through UKC. So, any CSV entered can participate in their all-breed shows. To get started or find an event, please click here.
However Czechoslovakian Vlcak (csv) are not currently fully recognized in AKC. They are currently in their Foundation Stock Service program which is the stepping-stone of breeds getting recognized by AKC. Any dogs in Foundation Stock Service can only show in open shows.
